Donation Leads to XCD Domain
A charitable donation in exchange for a domain. That's how Exceed obtained the new xcd.com domain - a true win-win for both parties involved. When first developing their website, Exceed had been interested in obtaining the xcd.com domain. Catchy, to the point, and completely aligned with the XCD branding, it was the perfect domain name for the Exceed website, except it was already in use.
All that changed recently when the xcd.com domain, in use by US giant, the TROY Group, became dormant.
Having made contact with the company's IT Director, we realised that a simple bidding war was not the solution to obtaining the xcd.com domain. Instead, some creative thinking was needed. In the spirit of creating a win-win agreement for both parties, we offered to donate a sum of US $ 10,000 to a charity of their choice.
The offer was accepted and the Exceed team was pleased to see their donation go to a very worthwhile cause, Canyon Acres Children's Home, an organisation that cares for abused and neglected children.
