Exceed donates to Community Crooning Minstrels

A Cape Town-based charity, the Lentegeur Community Crooning Minstrels, is the most recent recipient of funds from the Exceed Charitable Fund. The Minstrels, known for their colourful carnival performances and traditional “Second New Year” march on January 2 of each year, use music, song and dance as a way to reach out to their local community.

Colin Dodgen, Chairman of the Lentegeur Community Crooning Minstrels, describes how they reach out to the entire community; combining the development of song, music and dance potential with motivational speakers, feeding and caring schemes for the needy and elderly, and educating youth to cope with the impact of HIV/AIDS. The Minstrels’ aim through these efforts is to instil a sense of accountability, responsibility and hope.

The Exceed Charitable Fund, which has contributed to a number of Southern African charities, including feeding schemes and youth outreach programmes, is a shared initiative with Exceed matching the contributions made by its coaches on a monthly basis.
