Delivering Results through the Exceed Approach
Exceed focuses on performance improvement in capital intensive and high cost operational environments, where frequent, and sustained improvement result in increased productivity, improved HSE results, and significant financial gains. Extraction-based industries (e.g. Oil & Gas, Mining) have been our primary focus. In addition, we have successfully conducted projects in manufacturing industries such as lumber, pulp and paper milling, and aircraft maintenance, and service industries such as insurance, health care, and local authorities.
Our focus is on the operations side of your business, where we work with your people to improve HSE performance, increase productivity, reduce waste, and minimise operating costs. Our involvement may expand to involve support functions such as contracts, supply chain, logistics, HR, IT and finance.

We will not pretend to know all about your business but start each project with a thorough assessment to determine the business case for change which may be supported with the deployment of Performance Coaches.
Our assessment includes an analysis of the current performance gap in terms of Key Result Areas (KRAs), the financial drivers, and a review of internal business processes. We assess your organisation on the dimensions of our PACE model: Performance Focus, Accountability, Collaboration and Effective Leadership.
The process of conducting a PACE assessment and the active involvement of key stakeholders, is part of enrolling your organisation in the realities and opportunities and in co-defining the solutions.
One of the key pillars of the Exceed approach is involvement and enrolment of your team. A positive, involved team is essential for success. At Exceed, we recognise this and ensure that your team own the solution. Beginning with the upfront assessment, through to planning and executing the project, we involve your people by inviting an honest appraisal of the current reality and their recommendations on the solutions for sustained success. The team are encouraged by a competition to name the improvement project while Exceed will brand and create an identity for the project based on the chosen name.
Communication is vital to the success of the project – we keep your people informed through regular newsletters, recognising and celebrating successes, and reinforcing the project message through tally books with key project guidelines and project-branded workwear.
We distinguish between different types of operations and our approach is adapted to the spectrum of environments in which we work. In project environments, which have a definitive start and end period, we focus on project stages and embed a culture of accountability, timely inclusive planning, effective measurement, After Action Reviews and learning. In production environments, characterised by a continuous flow of activities, our focus changes to repetitive projects where small gains for each repetitive cycle have a substantial cumulative effect.
