Achieve with our Kaizen Approach
Organisations vary in their approach to performance improvement; some choosing to focus on quick fixes or symptom solving, but failing to address underlying causes. Kaizen is not a ‘stop-gap’ method. It is a continuous improvement methodology that addresses root causes and becomes embedded within the organisation as a way of life. Our Kaizen facilitators work with Senior Managers to identify critical business issues and analyse the symptoms. They then work with the designated Kaizen team to dig deeper and determine the root causes.
When we conduct a Kaizen implementation, we have two objectives. First, the Kaizen facilitator(s) assist your staff in successfully addressing the critical business issue at hand. This early win generates the enthusiasm and organisation-wide support for our second objective: a transfer of Kaizen skills and knowledge to your own internal Kaizen team. It is our aim to leave every organisation with the desire and the internal capability to deliver Kaizen Blitz and Kaizen for Continuous Improvement.
Our Kaizen approach is adapted to be relevant and appropriate for whichever sector we are working in. The approach is structured around three key phases:
Plan & Enrol
We gauge your organisation’s readiness and take necessary steps to raise awareness, allay fears and ensure buy-in. We work with you to identify, set goals and define the scope of the projects. We provide a structured approach with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
Train & Enable
We roll out Kaizen Blitz rapid improvement events, providing expert facilitation and introducing a range of performance improvement tools. We teach Kaizen principles and help your team to practically apply these. Kaizen Blitz events are characterised by high energy, refreshing transparency and high impact results.
Support to Implement
Throughout the implementation phase of the project, we continue to engage and provide expert guidance to your internal Kaizen team. Our role widens from that of expert facilitator to a role of measuring, monitoring, and removing any blockages along the way.
Within this framework, we continually operate on two levels; implementation of the project at hand and a transfer of skills to internal Kaizen Champions. The Kaizen consultant develops the programme such that transfer of knowledge and skills is not a random by-product but is integrated into the Kaizen roll-out. This ensures sustainability of an internal Kaizen programme.
