Exceed re-affirms commitment to Six Sigma
Exceed sees Six Sigma as an important tool in implementing continuous improvement projects. It has become a key requirement for all Exceed performance coaches. In addition to deploying his skills on a prestigious Technical Limit project in South West Africa, Mr. Van Rensburg will provide mentoring and support to the Exceed team to ensure that all Exceed coaches achieve Black Belt Six Sigma status in the near future.
For those who might doubt the link between Six Sigma and perfomance improvement, Johan states: "Six Sigma's most important contribution is often overlooked. More than just an improvement methodology with statistical and tactical toolsets, it is a vehicle for strategic and cultural change that creates the critical link between business strategy, supplier input, available resources, process and people capabilities and customer expectations and results."
Six Sigma is in essence a problem solving approach with a philosophy rooted in the reduction and elimination of process variability, and identifying and eliminating the root causes of poor performance. Its strength lies in a structured and tested approach and the formal phased application of the DMAIC methodology.
Understanding what the customer considers "critical to quality" is a cornerstone of any successful Six Sigma initiative, and the focus on improving process and people capabilities helps organisations to produce products and services better, faster, cheaper and safer.
The addition of a Master Black Belt to the Exceed team fits with Exceed's philosophy of continuous personal and professsional development. We are excited to welcome Johan on board and look forward to great results for Exceed and for our clients.
