Technical Limit: Pre-Job Learning for Safe, Optimal Execution

Technical Limit methodology is built upon early involvement of those who are closest to the fire. The purpose of Technical Limit workshops is to revisit the agreed-upon plan of execution from an operational perspective, and to ensure wider team commitment to the agreed-upon Technical Limit.

Drill the Limit (DWOP) and Complete the Limit (CWOP) workshops are essential to ensure pre-job learning and safe, optimal execution of drilling and completions projects.

In addition to pre-job learning, bringing together a multi-disciplinary team ensures team engagement and commitment to a team target. Questions asked at a Technical Limit workshop focus on translating the plan into operational reality:

Does the plan really represent an improvement on current performance? Does the team have information that could improve upon the plan or present barriers for execution?
