Job Specification:

MPD WELLSITE SUPERVISOR

BASIC FUNCTION:

Onsite MPD engineering, planning, leadership, daily supervision, close out reporting for managed pressure drilling operations.

DUTIES:

  • Individuals will have good reporting skills and are able to manage teams effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with the crew, drilling contractor and client is expected.
  • Preparation of job work program and procedural details prior to each job.
  • Effectively manage, supervise and participate in the installation of MPD equipment.
  • Ensure pre-job equipment preparations are done and that the equipment is ready.
  • Communicate with well operator company representative, drilling contractor & 3rd
  • Lead onsite Managed Pressure Drilling related operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reporting and advising on Managed Pressure Drilling engineering issues at the worksite.
  • Observe and record all Managed Pressure Drilling operations and performance data.
  • Ensures Contractor’s equipment is adequately serviced, maintained, stored at the completion of each job and in good operational condition for the next job.
  • Perform administrative work and submit required documentation onsite. this includes but not limited to the following:

-           Managed Pressure Drilling Report

-           Job Performance Analysis / Review

-           Equipment Failure Report (If applicable)

-           Job Ticket

-           Contractor’s Personnel Service Ticket

  • The Managed Pressure Drilling Supervisor must possess sufficient experience of MPD PLC controlled software / chokes control to provide coverage for MPD control system operator role.
  • Candidate should be capable of instructing crews on all operations and liaising with client on all matters relating to MPD Operations.
  • Participate in routine emergency response exercises as required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Upstream Oil & Gas Experience 10 years
  • Managed Pressure Drilling 5 years
  • Leadership role within MPD operations. 2 years
  • Persons shall possess a deep understanding of MPD operations and wellsite management.
  • Able to perform basic maintenance, repair and troubleshoot at the worksite.

 

MPD CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATOR

BASIC FUNCTION:           

Onsite operation of MPD control system, programming well model, maintaining of control network, upkeep of hydraulic well model, accurate reporting of MPD operations.

DUTIES:

  • The ability to communicate effectively with the crew, drilling contractor and client is expected.
  • Review of work program and procedural details prior to each job or operation.
  • Able to effectively manage and demonstrate a strong technical installation of MPD control network.
  • Ensure pre-job equipment preparations are done and that the MPD control system is ready.
  • Communicate with well operator company representative, drilling contractor & 3rd
  • Lead the installation, testing and commissioning of the MPD Control System.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reporting and advising on MPD Supervisor of control system issues at the worksite.
  • Maintain the hydraulic well model to ensure all data is current, accurate and reflects the downhole conditions, this may involve the calibration with PWD if applicable.
  • Ensures contractor’s equipment is adequately serviced, maintained, stored at the completion of each job and in good operational condition for the next job.
  • Able to perform maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of the control system at the worksite, and act as a technical focal point in the event of technical failures and upgrades from town.
  • Perform administrative work and submit required documentation onsite. this includes but not limited to the following:

-           MPD Operations Report

-           Job Performance Analysis / Review

-           Equipment Failure Report (If applicable)

-           Submit historical data as per requirements

  • Effectively cover the MPD Supervisors break requirements.
  • Candidate should be capable of discussing with all crews MPD related tasked and liaising with client on all matters relating to MPD Operations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Upstream Oil & Gas Experience 5 years
  • Managed Pressure Drilling 3 years
  • Managed Pressure Drilling Control System Operator 2 years
  • Persons shall possess strong understanding of MPD operations and control systems.
  • Individuals will have good reporting skills and are able to participate in teams effectively.
