BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Contracts Advisor is a key role within the Supply Chain Team in ensuring that value is delivered to the Exceed business through the Contract and Procurement Process. 

The Senior Contracts Advisor will be accountable for the commercial aspects of contracting for the Exceed Wells Management Team. This role will drive commercial contracting excellence, security of supply and risk management through the implementation of effective and efficient contracting strategies and arrangements.

This role will provide support to the Exceed Supply Chain Manager, Project Teams and Clients ensuring the Supply Chain is perceived as a positive, significant, value adding integral partner to the Exceed business. 

DUTIES:

  • Co-ordinate’s procurement activities within the Wells Management Team through preparation or collation of;
    • Materials/Service requirements
    • Bidders lists
    • Tender documents
    • Commercial evaluations
    • Support with Call off Orders
    • Maintain tender clarification registers
    • Provide day to day liaison/advice on commercial and contractual matters with project team members.
    • Co-ordination and preparation of prequalification and tender enquires.
    • Preparation of contractual documentation against standard company templates
    • Preparation and presentation of recommendations to award
    • Post Contract administration including contract amendments/variations
    • Evaluation of tender submissions including development of commercial models
    • Support with Master Service Agreement negotiations and execution
    • Support with Due Diligence evaluations and execution
    • Support with Clients Supply Chain Teams
  • Prepares tender documentation for all Project service requirements
  • Negotiates contracts terms and conditions with the assistance of the Exceed Legal Team
  • Drives commercial contracting excellence and manages risk effectively
  • Contracting Policies, Processes and Procedures – work with all other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures emphasising standardisation where possible
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key contractors to ensure best service, commercial terms, surety of services for operations
  • Ensure ‘best value‘ achieved by competitive tendering, effective negotiation and contract structure
  • Accurately quantify, classify and record Supply savings
  • Align contractual, commercial and risk guidelines and approval policies to ensure effective governance
  • Internal/ external benchmarking activities to achieve continuous performance improvement (HSEC, QA, Cost, Schedule etc.)
  • Support other contracts personnel and coach junior contracts personnel
  • Awareness of operational activities ensuring that the contracts team is working closely with Contract Sponsors/Business Users and other functions to support where required.
  • Supports the development of contractor performance KPIs and supplier performance management process
  • Keeps Exceed Supply Chain Manager / Project Manager regularly informed of progress in planning and operations
  • Attends regular weekly Supply Chain Meetings
  • Liaises with Legal department when required
  • Supports the Company Due Diligence process
  • Supports with the negotiation and execution of Master Service Agreements
  • Carry out ad-hoc administration duties to support the Supply Chain Department and Project teams as necessary
  • Acts as a key member of the Supply Chain Team
  • Acts as support for the Supply Chain Manager during periods of annual leave.
  • Supports & mentors Junior Contracts Advisors

Duration: 12 months

Required Experience: excellent negotiating and analytical skills; demonstrate extensive experience within the contract and supply chain discipline; solid oil & gas ideally within well management; knowledge of strategic, technical, legal, finance, tax and commercial issues and an understanding of LOGIC terms and conditions.
